http://huertodelcura.com/reconocimientos/reconocimientos-al-grupo-huerto-del-cura-y-hotel-jardin-milenio/en Chilean Tourism Authorities have informed Turismo Chile and the industry that land and sea connectivity has been successfully re-established after the mudslide that affected Santa Lucia and its surroundings on December 16, 2017.
The Southern Highway (Carretera Austral in Spanish) is almost fully operative. 3.5 kilometers of the Southern Highway remain inaccessible. Therefore, it is important to know that alternative routes help connect the still affected area.
Several alternatives are available to visit Chile’s northern Patagonian region.
Tourists wanting to connect Puerto Montt to Aysén may do so via Chaiten. This connection uses a ferry (Raúl Marín Balmaceda) and helps avoid any affected areas.
Local authorities have asked visitors to the region of Aysen to plan their visits with caution and ahead of time. Please click here to check the official website information http://www.chilestuyo.cl/especiales/carretera-austral/.
If you occupy a travel advisory role, it’s important to know that all natural attractions in the area are open and available to tourism activity.
Notwithstanding, Santiago’s International Airport, El Tepual ( serves Puerto Montt) and Balmaceda (serves Coyhaique) are all operating under normal conditions.
