Turismo Chile is an association dedicated to promoting Chile as a tourism destination by highlighting destinations, products and services.
Meet our team
The Tourism Promotion Corporation of Chile (CPT), was created in 1994, with 50 partners.
The core mission of CPT was to create a public-private tourism promotion partnership. By joining the efforts of both publci and private organizations sought to address Chile's international tourism promotion strategy jointly.
From Public-Private to Public
One year after the approval of the new Tourism Law passed in 2010, the national tourism service (Sernatur) stopped being a part of CPT. CPT became known as Turismo Chile. By now partnership numbers had grown to 170. In 2012, this association carried out the national tourism promotion plan by managing Sernatur’s public promotion funds and private sector investment.
In May 2017, Sernatur decided to single-handedly carry administer public international promotion funds without Turismo Chile. The role of Turismo Chile changed from being an entity in-charge of tourism promotion to becoming an organization dedicated to defending the interests of tourism products and services that constitute Chile’s travel offer worldwide.
Turismo Chile is still the most experienced international promotion entity in the country and it’s members are the largest showcase of market-ready tourism products and services.
