If you're looking for a more exclusive place to ski with magnificent views of Santiago, head to La Parva. Located a mere 50km from Santiago's downtown area, this 9,673-meter resort features 30 pistes with varying degrees of difficulty and 2.5 to 412-meter slopes.
The resort is perched an impressive 2,700 meters above sea level and is the only north-facing facility of its kind in Chile, which means that the slopes are sunny (as long as there is sun, of course). It is also the only ski resort in Chile that offers views of Santiago's lights and the sun setting to the west from its slopes.
La Parva's 14 lifts are flanked by modern buildings that seem to hang from them. Lodging options range from rustic refuges to private condos. In all, over 7,000 beds are available to visiting athletes and their families.
Still wondering if this is really the place for you? Guests also can attend ski school, try their hand at snowboarding and even heliski. La Parva's high quality equipment and infrastructure guarantee that guests will enjoy great service when it comes to accommodations, food, equipment rental, ski school and all of the resort's other facilities. One more thing: the resort stays open in summer so that "downhill" experts can test their biking skills. But that is a completely different ballgame.
